Mother Homerzelle Reed

Mother Homerzelle Reed is a native of Paris, Texas where she grew up in a Christ-centered home and church environment. Her personal experience with the Lord in her preteen years changed the trajectory of her life that shifted her from desiring to become a concert pianist to desiring to want to know more about God and His Word.

Her academic career has garnered her two Masters’ degrees as well as a presentation conferred by her colleagues to be the recipient of a lifetime inductee into the National Teacher’s Honor Society.

Mother Reed has worn many hats and is humbled to wear the title of Founding First Lady of the historic Holy Cross Cathedral Shekinah Church of God in Christ where she worked alongside her late husband, Apostle Vernon R. Reed for over 40 years.

Mother Reed contends that in order to fulfill and enjoy God’s purpose in this life, it is imperative to have a life that is totally surrendered to God. And it is with that mindset that she is serious about working, praying, teaching, edifying and mentoring both young and old in her assignment at Compel City Community Church.
